Custom Website OR Template Websites. Which is better?

Do you need a new website for your business? And, you are confused between whether to go for a custom web design or a website template. Before we answer this question, let’s check out the pros and cons of both.

Custom Websites:

Custom websites are built from scratch and have unique designs according to your requirements. Our website developers use WordPress as our Content Management System (CMS) and, all our websites are build using the latest in HTML and CSS standards, which are favorable to Google ranking and SEO algorithms. We are not using any pre-build template so, each element of the build is bespoke to your business and your plans. That means in this saturated market, the website stands out from your competitors because it is entirely original.

Pros: Original and unique design, SEO-friendly, complex functionality features, the ability to grow with your business, and there is a factor of scalability as well.

Cons: The design process is longer than a template site. A custom website is more expensive than a template.

Template websites:

A template website is a pre-built website. The easiest way to build a new website. We can customize it to a certain degree. Sometimes this can negatively affect brands as they are unable to add an important functional design into their websites and risk combining in with their competitors – especially in saturated markets such as eCommerce.

Pros: Easy to use, simple design, development time is significantly shorter.

Cons: Limited design options, less SEO friendly, customization is limited, and there can be responsive issues on different viewports.

But which is best for my business?

It usually comes down to your business needs and functions, plus the saturation of competition in your business. If you want a website that scalable, SEO, robust and unique, then custom websites are the obvious choice. It might take longer and cost you more, but you will get a good website.

However, if you are less on budget and do not have much time, then a template website may be for you. A template is also a great option for those who do not know to program but want to create a new website.
